LEUIE

The name Leuie is derived from the last three letters of Miguel, flipped in reverse. During high school, in a fall sport there was an older player on the team already named Miguel. To avoid confusion on the field, I flipped my name around from Miguel to Leugim and ran with it for years, until peers playfully began to pronounce it "Loogie" (like the spitball). Refusing to be called Loogie, I shortened and refined it down to the last three letters. Which just so happens to phonetically share with the name Lou/Louie. Thus, that stuck permanently: Leuie. Recently, I have become aware of the late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. As homage I adopted the alias Basquiat and/or Basquiat Picasso.
